Hi! This is Kylie from Made by a Princess! Happy New Year's and welcome 2015! As I write this Sizzix Tutorial I am barely ready for Christmas but we just won't talk about that. Let's talk about this fun and easy project for NYE. I really love the Brenda Walton Treat Popper die...they are so many things you can do with it. Perfect for a birthday party, baby shower, bridal shower, holiday treats, and of course, New Year's Eve.
Cut a piece of paper a bit bigger than the size of the popper and another for the band.
Using the Sizzix sandwich method place an Extended Cutting Pad down, your die, paper, then an Extended Crease Pad. Set in your machine and roll all the way through. When you are finished you will have two shapes that look like these. Remove the cut out pieces and discard.
Once you have folded along the creases grab your adhesive (glue gun, quick dry glue, or glue dots) and place adhesive on the three flaps and bring together to make a box.
Wrap the band around your popper and glue together. I wanted to jazz these treat poppers up so I used my Framelits pack of 5 Stars and the word "Party" from my Sizzlits Party #2 set. After I was done embellishing I sealed one end with grosgrain ribbon, filled with butter mints from Candy Pros, and sealed the other end with another piece of ribbon.
The whole thing took so little time and looks so cute on my NYE table. If you have a bit more time you can easily make tissue fringe for the edges (which I really love) using Martha Stewart fringe scissors and a package of tissue paper or crepe paper.
Have a safe and very Happy New Year...see you in 2015!
