Sizzix Tutorial | Rock & Roll Radio Card by Jeanne Streiff

Hi! Jeanne here today sharing a fun card for some Sizzix Inspiration using dies from the new Sizzix 50′s collection by Jen Long.

I am totally in love with the 50′s collection by Jen Long! They are the perfect size for cards and they all mix and match so well!

For today's project I used Thinlits Vintage Car & Radio, Thinlits Rock 'n Roll Sundae and the matching Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Retro 1950s Set. They come in their own very sturdy storage envelope so they are great for on the go crafting!

I created my background by embossing the background panel with Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Retro 1950s Set. I used my Sizzix Big Shot Machine along with the Multipurpose Platform (Platform base plus Tab 1) to emboss. Line up your cardstock in the folder and sandwich between two cutting pads and roll through the Big Shot machine.

I used a sponge to apply ink to the embossed panel.

Using a small round dauber and ink I added some black polka dots around the border.

I matted my embossed panel with a very thin black layer and then attached it t my card.

Next it was time to die cut all my parts. I used my Big Shot Machine along with the Multipurpose Platform. The sandwich is simple. From bottom up Multipurpose Platform, cutting pad, Thinlit (same sandwich for Framelits!), cardstock and then cutting pad.

See the embossed registration marks under the black and white die cut pieces? This gives you perfect placement for all the little pieces (picture was taken before assembly).

My last step was to die cut a mat for the phrase. I used Framelits Circles, Scallop.

Great Day

Love your card Jeanne. I'm sure that I am older than you so the 50's and 60's are very sentimental for me. I love these new dies and have already ordered 2 from the collection. I can't wait to get them.and play with them. Thanks for sharing this great card with us.
