Hey everyone, it's Hilary here today with fun Easter treat bags to add to your Easter Baskets this year. I used the Sizzix Movers & Shapers L die Sweet Treat Bag, by Brenda Walton, along with the Labels Movers & Shapers Magnetic die set, to create these sweet treats. I hope you enjoy!
Every year my family celebrates Easter at my brother's home in Cocoa Beach, and I have a lot of nieces and nephews that I like to surprise with a little something sweet, (that's what Aunt's do), so this year, I think I'll make a bunch of these little bags and surprise them all. They are the perfect size, and so fun and simple to make.
The Labels Movers & Shapers magnetic die set dies make it so easy to create a window to showcase the treats inside.
The finishing touch is a big coordinating ribbon tied in a bow at the top.
So let's get started and let me show you how easy it is to create these one-of-a-kind, sweet treat bags.
Let's begin by die cutting your treat bags. Using the Sweet Treat Bag die, you will need to pass the die through your Sizzix Big Shot twice, for two pieces. For the first cut, insert a Label Movers & Shapers in the open space provided, this will be the opening in the front of the bag. Then for the second cut, remove the Label die, unless you'd like an opening in the back of the bag.
Your cutting sandwich when using this die is as follows: place a Standard Cutting Pad onto your Sizzix Big Shot, followed by the Sweet Treat Bag die face up, followed by your paper, then a Standard Crease Pad on top. Slide this sandwich through your Big Shot.
Note the Crease Pad on top.
Remember to die cut two pieces for each treat bag and lay them out.
Next, cut a small square from transparency paper, slightly bigger than the opening, then using a wet glue, or tape runner, adhere the transparency over the opening on the "inside" of the bag.
The next step is to fold at all the crease lines, and adhere the two pieces together. Very simple, that's it. Your bag is basically finished at this point, but let's take it a step further.
Using the Flower Layers #6 Sizzix Originals die, die cut several flowers using coordinating felt, using the same cutting sandwich as above, however you will subsitute a Standard Cutting Pad instead of the Crease Pad.
Layer them together, adhering as you go. I use a dab of hot glue between each layer. Add leaves and a resin rose to finish if you'd like. Then adhere them to the bottom of the bag below a sentimental die cut.
Fill your bags with treats, then punch two holes at the top, insert ribbon and tie into a bow. You are finished!
These bags are so sweet and I hope I've inspired you to create some fun treat bags for your Easter guests this April.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
