Hello, hello! Anna Wight here with a Sizzix Tutorial for you. Valentines Day is tomorrow and if you're in need of a quick gift idea, you're in luck! Let me show you how easy it is to create this little box which you can fill with a few yummy wrapped chocolates and a love note!
The Originals and Bigz dies are really easy to use. Since they are steel rule dies, you can cut a variety of materials, including Mat Board which you can cover in your favorite scrapbook papers. Just sandwich your material and die between a pair of Extended Cutting Pads and put it through your Sizzix Big Shot machine.
Once the box was die cut, I lightly inked the fold lines and edges with brown Distress Ink from Ranger. I used a wonderful sheet of double-sided patterned paper from K&Company for my box. I added double-sided adhesive to the two side flaps, which is all it takes to keep this box assembled. Gotta love that!
To create embellishments for the box, I die cut a large star from thin cork, and a cute red heart from paper covered Mat Board. I inked the edges of both.
I adhered a small brown button threaded with hemp twine to the heart, adhered the heart to the star, and finally adhered the star to the front of the box, which I had wrapped several times with brown hemp twine.
Filled with chocolate hearts and a note of love, this is a quick and easy project I'm looking forward to giving to my Valentine!
Since the assembly of the box is so easy, you could make a heap of these really quickly. How fun they would be for classmates and teachers, too!
Thanks for joining me today! I hope you are inspired!
