Hello, Friends! It’s Monika here from Life With Lovebugs for today's Sizzix Tutorial. One of my favorite mediums to use for kids crafts is foam sheets. It's easier for their little hands to manage and more durable than paper so you have less ripped pieces. For today's project I used foam sheets and few shape dies to create some fun tags that your kids can assemble themselves and add to their Valentine's Day gift bags.
I wanted to make a few examples of how the treat bag tags can look before the kids made their own. I used several basic shape dies and die cut them using my Sizzix Big Shot Machine. To die cut Framelits dies, you can use the Sizzix Magnetic Platform. To do so, lay your Magnetic Platform in the Big Shot, place one Standard Cutting Pad on top, then the material you're using, your Framelits die and the second Cutting Pad on top and roll it through the Big Shot machine.
I used the Sizzix Framelits Circles, Scallop, Sizzix Framelits Hearts, and Sizzix Framelits Circles dies to make a variety of shapes to work with. When you have the kids make their own treat bag tags, you can set out the piles of shapes for them to grab and assemble how they like.
Once I had my shapes die cut, I used the Sizzix Framelits with Stamps Tags set to die cut tags. I also used the "just a little something" stamp from the set. If you have kids old enough to write, you can have them use a fine tip permanent marker to write their name or a note here.
I used a strip of double sided tape to assemble the layers in my tags. You can also use glue, but the tape is much easier. Then I punched a hole in the top and threaded my ribbon through.
Cute, right? The wonderful thing about the packs of basic shapes is that there are so many sizes to choose from. You can make big treat bag tags like I did, or small ones depending on the size of your bags.
Once you have your bags filled with candy, tie the tag around the bag. You can also use your double sided tape to add a candy heart to the front, or a bite size candy bag to the back.
