Hi everyone, Mou here with a holiday décor Sizzix Tutorial for you using one of the many fabulous holiday dies from Sizzix.

I love to deck the halls with handmade holiday projects. This year, I have made a few shadowboxes. The 'shadowbox' I used is actually an upcycled Sizzix die box... there's really use all around from Sizzix products and packaging :) Let me show you my process in steps.

On the Magnetic Platform, lay a Standard Cutting Pad and then the Winter Deer Thinlits die blade side up. The Magnetic Platform will securely hold the die in place for making a precise cut. Lay kraft cardstock on the die and cover with the other cutting pad and pass the sandwich through the Big Shot machine. Repeat this step to die cut more kraft paper to create a layered 3D effect in your shadowbox.

With scissors separate the die cut as shown. Add color with Peeled Paint Distress ink pad and blending tool.

Attach the separated die cut pieces to the whole die cut with foam tape to create a 3D effect.

Cut white cardstock to fit inside shadowbox. Size of cardstock will depend on the size of your shadowbox. Color it with Peacock Feathers, Peeled Paint, and Vintage Photo Distress ink pads. Splatter water with paint brush to make the Distress inks react. Let dry.

Attach the layered diecuts to the cardstock base with more foam tape.

Stamp a sentiment on the cardstock. You might want to stamp before attaching the die cuts. Tap the Peacock Feathers ink pad face down onto craft sheet. Add water to the ink and mix into a puddle. Use the diluted ink to splatter on the piece.

Add Crackle Paste with palette knife along the edges, inside and outside, of the shadowbox. Let dry.

Add color to the dried crackled surface with antiquing cream or another paint.

Attach the finished block inside the shadowbox to finish. You could also add glitter to your piece for some sparkle if you like.
