Hello crafters, it's Aida back with a Sunshine Card featuring the cute Bigx XL Card In the Box by Lori Whitlock. You might've seen the card already on this Blog, but let me assure you this card die is so versatile that you will be able to customise them with just a few simple changes.
The Card Box might look tricky to assemble and you'll be happy to know inside the packaging are easy instructions you can follow.
To start, I die cut a pale blue card stock. Your cutting sandwich when using this die from the bottom is: an Extended Cutting Pad onto your Sizzix Big Shot, followed by the Frame die face up, followed by your paper, then the other Extended Cutting Pad on top. Roll this sandwich through your Big Shot.
I love how the die neatly scores the lines on the card stock and anyone would be happy at not having to guess where the fold lines are ! You will need 2 pieces for the box and I've die-cut 2 pieces for the center support.
Assemble the box following the instructions, and die cut patterned papers to adhere to the flaps of the box. The fastest non-fiddly way would be to glue half the paper on the outside flaps, then bend the paper into the box and adhere securely.
Next, adhere the center supports.
This die comes with the accents of clouds, pin-wheel and banner which makes it very convenient if you are in a hurry.
I've matted the clouds to creat a light blue shadow on them.
These are the cute Thinlits Hello Sunshine Thinlits by Stephanie Barnard and that cute, happy sun face would cheer anyone up !
The Precision Base Plate is used with the Magnetic Platform and replaces ONE Cutting Pad. The sandwich you will have is: on your Big Shot the Magnetic Platform, followed by the Precision Base Plate the metal side facing up, the paper, followed by the Thinlits the cutting side facing down, and finally the regular Cutting Pad.
I have an explanation and step-by-step here: Victorian Frame Card
To "stand" the accents up, I've adhered short sticks behind them and then on to the center supports.
The word Sunshine was die cut in Glitter card stock using the Bigz L Card Sunshine and I adhered the word to a strip of dotted vellum.
These box cards are different, so much fun to make and definitely *happy mail* to receive! Thank you for joining me today, happy crafting!
