Hi everyone, Tara here!
It's no secret that I love a well-set table. They say that "you eat with your eyes", and I think that sitting down to a nicely done table setting sets the tone for the entire meal.
Springtime is the perfect season for tea parties and bright colors - Sharyn Sowell's new line of dies are a perfect compliment to this theme.
I used Sizzix paper leather to create the utensil holder and the little favor basket. I love the texture and the workability of paper leather. It cuts beautifully and creates nice creases and curves.
I can see this Bird Thinlits die being used in many more projects. Its lacy wings and tail work well with a Springtime feel, but could also be lovely in creams and reds for Christmastime. I'm making a mental note about that right now.
The Little Basket die is easy to put together. I am a self-professed glue gun addict, and so of course I hot glued the pieces together. I love the surety of hot glue. I know that the seams are not coming apart.
The baskets flew together quickly out of the blush paper leather. I had visions of Spanish moss and little eggs tucked away in these favor boxes.
And it turned out just lovely. The kraft paper-colored birds gained another dimension with the wings....
....while the blush birds were simply glued to the utensil wrappers.
I feel like this setting is fun and a bit whimsical.
The extra time taken to tuck away the gold-embellished silverware.... the tiny little eggs peeking from the basket... the small favour sitting atop the colourful napkin...
These are the details I thrill over.
What a lovely way to say, "Be my guest!"
