Happy Thursday, loves! Today, we're kicking off our weekly start of Throw Back Thursday, (#tbt or #throwbackthursday for all you social media users) where we bring back some amazing makes that have been made over the years. With Valentine's Day right around the corner, we knew we had to share with you some of the awesome make it yourself projects that our Sizzix Licenced Designers and Design Team members have made- some going all the way back to when we first started our Sizzix blog! Are you ready for a flurry of Valentine feels?
Steampunk love. Mixed media. Tim Holtz dies. Obsessed doesn't even begin to cover the feels we have for this AHMAZING make by Shelly Hickox. Would you believe us if we told you that Shelly created this Steampunk Winged Heart using mostly paper and paint? Don't worry. Our jaws had to be picked up off the floor as well. This make definitely makes us gear up in excitement for Valentine's Day.
My Forever Love Layout- can we just say that it's our forever favorite love layout? This beautiful scrapbook layout by Jen Hobbins is like a breath of fresh air every time we see it. Perfectly blending dies with colors and textures and papers, Jan beautifully showcases love, ensuring that its meaning was translated in her making. (Love noun: 2. Causes eyes to sparkle.)
We're taking it back to 2012- waaaayyyy back when our Sizzix blog was brand new. We stopped in our tracks (halted our mouse scrolling?) when we saw Jennifer Priest's Hearts and Doilies Mini Album. How fantastic is this make?! With the colors and embellishments, and the chipboard accents- we were wishing for a hot minute that WE were the friend Jennifer was giving this Valentine's make to!
"Buddy the Elf, what's your favorite color?" We are ALL about the color on this adorable Hugs & Kisses Tag. Combining a vintage feel with a contemporary (and still trendy) look, Ronda Palazzari expertly showed us how to make this awesome Valentine's Day tag- a make that would sweetly accent any Valentine's Day gift.
We love όmbre. We όmbre our hair, we όmbre our nails, and some of us even όmbre our eyebrows when we fill them in. But adding όmbre to our tables for Valentine's Day? Can we get a collective "YES!"? We totally love this Ómbre Valentine's Table Runner made by Tiffany Johnson. Super simple, super sweet- and the best part? You get to use those coffee filters that you've been holding onto in case you ever want to make coffee the non-Keurig way! If adding some Valentine's Day color to our tables is wrong- then we definitely don't want to be right.
Cupid's going to get you with this make- he got us and we're absolutely ok with it. Audrey Pettit created this fantastic Love Treat Topper for Valentine's Day a few years ago and we still use it as inspiration for projects! We love her use of watercolor and embossing, not to mention the glittery gold and chevrons! Cupid-cuteness!
They often say to save the best for last, and today, we did just that. We were crazy excited to find this Romantic Valentine Candy Box, made by Sizzix Licensed Designer, Eileen Hull. We get giddy every time we read this make it yourself- and get antsy to start making our own romantic candy box. With scoreboard tips from the Scoreboard Queen herself, Eileen teaches us, like no one else can, how to create one of the best Valentine makes ever.
Valentine's Day is just 3 days away (not counting today). We've loved being able to share all of these awesome #throwbackthursday Sizzix makes with you today. If you want to share your past projects with us, tag us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #tbtsizzix so we can see and share them! What would you like to see for next week's Throw Back Thursday?
