Hey everyone, it's Hilary here today, squeezing in one very last Valentines Day project that is super simple to create and the perfect little treat to hand out to all of your special friends. I'm showcasing one of my favorite dies, the Matchbox, Notebook die by Where Women Cook. It's the perfect die to fit a Ghirardelli chocolate inside, along with a little note. Below I'll show you how to create them.
These really are the perfect sized Valentines, and all you need are just a couple of added embellishments to truly make them unique, such as the Mini Paper Rosettes decorative strip die and Mini Heart set, movers & shapers.
Inside is where the treat is hidden, as you can see, it's almost like this die was made for this.
Stamp and add your sentiment to the enclosed card, and voila, you have created a quick and easy Valentine treat. Let's get started.
Using your Big Shot, or Big Shot Plus as I have, start by laying down a cutting pad, then the Matchbox, Notebook die on top with the cutting blades facing up. Then lay your pattern paper down, and finally a crease pad on top. Run this through your die cutter and set the pieces to the side.
Next, fold the matchbox where the scored lines are.
Then using white brads and bakers twine, secure them into the holes that are at either end. Then lightly hot glue the edges of the matchbox to the sides.
For the decorative rosettes, you will need the following cutting sandwich, lay the multi-purpose platform down opening up to Tab 1. Then lay a cutting pad on top, followed by the decorative strip die, your cardstock, then another cutting pad on top. Run this sandwich through your Big Shot. Assemble the rosettes.
Using the Mini Hearts Set, movers & shapers die, die cut a heart using white heavyweight cardstock, spray with adhesive and press into silver vintage glitter, and adhere to the top of the rosette. Then adhere the rosette to the top of the matchbox as shown, wrapping a little silver tinsel around the bottom and tuck in the ends to secure.
To die cut a movers & shapers die, use an Accessory Base Tray, on top of a cutting pad, then lay the movers & shapers die on the tray, with the cutting blades facing up, lay your paper on top of the die, then add another cutting pad on top.
Finally, stamp the notecards with a sentiment, or write a fun, sweet note to your recipient, and tuck inside the box.
These are so much fun to make and so quick and easy as well. I hope I've inspired you to create a few of these to give out on Valentines Day.
Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a happy Valentines Day.
